Choose the ticket for your coffee stop
Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo may issue entry tickets when it is busy. Its official entry guide describes two types:
- A time-specific ticket lets you choose an arrival slot. Registration starts at 7 a.m. on typically busy days, including Saturdays, Sundays, Japanese national holidays and the New Year holiday season.
- A waiting-list ticket admits parties in registration order when the store becomes crowded. If waiting-list tickets are not being issued, the guide says you can enter without a ticket.
Registration is for the visit day only. You cannot hold both ticket types at once, so choose according to the options available when you register: a fixed arrival slot or a place in the queue. Daily ticket numbers are limited; once the limit is reached, registration closes. Before setting out, open the official Roastery Tokyo X account linked from the entry guide to check for registration-closure announcements.
Register through the official entry guide
On the official entry guide, tap the “Entry ticket registration” button to open AirWAIT. You can also scan a QR code near the store. Select a language if needed, then:
- Tap “Waiting list registration,” enter an email address you can access during your visit, and submit.
- Open the “Registration URL” in the “Pre-registration confirmation” email.
- Choose your party size and a displayed time slot or waiting-list option, then proceed to confirmation. Only displayed options are available; closed registration buttons and unavailable waiting-list options are not shown.
- Check the details and tap “Register.” Keep the confirmation email: its link lets you check your waiting status.
Count the whole party, including children
One registration covers up to six people, with each child counted as a group member. For seven or more, another person in the party must make a separate registration. Count everyone before completing the party-size field.
Watch the correct return window
A waiting-list ticket allows entry within one hour after you are called. A time-specific ticket requires arrival within the 30-minute slot you selected. The one-hour rule is therefore not extra time after a timed slot.
When the notification email arrives, open the “Waiting status confirmation URL” and show the status page that opens at the entrance. Screenshots and other images are not accepted.
Check the consequence before canceling
Cancel through the link in your confirmation email. To change a ticket, the instructions require canceling and registering again. They also state that the same email address cannot be used to register again after cancellation. You will need a different email address to register again, and the daily limit may already have been reached. Consider both before canceling.
Leave room for finding a seat
The ticket controls entry, not seating. After admission, use an available seat; you may still have to wait during busy periods. For a tightly timed coffee break, allow for that uncertainty when deciding whether to register.
Plan for takeout and luggage
Takeout does not bypass ticketing when entry tickets are being issued, and only eligible menu items can be taken away. The store also provides no luggage storage and asks visitors to bring belongings to their seat. If you are traveling with bags, arrange storage elsewhere before visiting rather than expecting a place to leave them inside.
